Newborn Caleb’s first bath + snuggles at home with photo and video

A few weeks ago, I got to preserve the early days of babyhood with Stephanie and Andy at their home in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.

Stephanie opted for photos and film to encapsulate the first days with their first baby.

When planning activities for photo and video sessions, I send out a questionnaire that guides me when talking to you about what you might like to capture at your session. These are always flexible, but it makes some families feel more comfortable having an idea of what to do during the session since I don’t pose or direct them. Stephanie mentioned giving baby Caleb his first bath at home.

During the session, I chose to shoot video primarily during the bath to show all the movements and reactions, and I think that worked out beautifully.

We didn’t plan any other activities and just allowed Caleb to direct the session with what he needed.

I love watching these sessions play out in an honest way and telling the story that I see before me.
