Child-Led Documentary Motherhood Session
Ever been worried about how your family photography session will go because your kids might act up? Letting children lead the session can make the session more entertaining and yield really great photos. And, you can relax a little and let them be themselves.
This session started with tending some houseplants with mom. Then, the boys started building some creations and playing with dinosaurs—something they do regularly. After a little while the boys led us outside where they played various made up games. We just let the boys lead this session, and it kept them happy most of the time.
The boys finally came inside for a snack and reading. Meanwhile, the mom took a little time to put together some essential oil blends.
Then, the boys started running around and even got into a little wrestling match over some toys. Kids “misbehaving” is one of the most common concerns people have when it comes to photo sessions. But I know this is a normal part of having kids, and it doesn’t phase me. Depending on what we talked about in your questionnaire, on the phone, and even at the session, I will know whether to shoot through it or give you guys a little space while you work it out.
This is your life, and I’m not there to judge. I’m there to observe and document. And, create something meaningful for your family.
